Toddler Talk – the online support package

If your child is struggling, you don’t have to figure it out on your own.

This is the programme for you if:

  • your toddler is late learning to talk
  • you’re looking for effective personal support from a Speech and Language Therapist with years of experience
  • you want practical help and a simple framework to bring more calm and connection as you help your child learn to talk

Informed by my years as a Speech and Language Therapist, helping parents use simple strategies to help their little one communicate.

What parents say:

Before I started this course, I was lost. I wasn’t sure how to help my little girl, or what I should be doing. I felt very low and not enjoying being mum. Since completing the course I cannot believe the progress my little girl has made and how much more empowered I feel as her parent in helping her to communicate, with myself and our family.

We really look forward to spending some focussed time together every day. I notice more the kinds of things that we can do together and enjoy trying new things. I think more about following her lead and waiting for her to look in day to day situations like cooking.

Here to help

Parents often describe the confusion and stress when seeing their child struggle, but are often told to simply wait and see if they’ll catch up. The good news is, you don’t have to just wait and wonder. There’s lots we can do right now.

I’ve seen the power of early support to help children become confident communicators.  The sooner you understand your child’s communication development, the sooner the two of you can really get to know each other and enjoy the process.

When you have simple strategies and tailor-made support, you can start having conversations together.  It’s pretty incredible to see that spark grow as your child learns how to tell you what’s on their mind.

This online package gives you bitesize videos with information and ideas, to walk you through a simple framework to build your communication together, step by step.  The video lessons are backed up with 1:1 coaching calls and instant messaging support whenever you need it, so that you get the right help whenever you need it. No waiting and wondering.

What’s included in the package?

  • Six weeks of bitesize video lessons, audio summaries and cheat sheets.
  • Two 1:1 coaching calls with Bryony to discuss your child’s development.
  • Love by post (this is an online package, but it’s good to make a ‘real life’ connection with some mail to inspire you along the way.)
  • Weekly instant message check-ins and support, to help you focus in on what’s working and find solutions when you need them.
  • End-of-course summary to help you share information with other key people in your child’s life.
  • Personalised online evaluation to identify priorities for support and review your child’s progress.
  • AND a BONUS speech sound development package.

I know all children develop at different rates, so why don’t I just wait and see if my child will catch up?

If that feels best for you, then that’s what you should do. You’re the expert on your child.  We do know that if a child needs extra help with their speech and language development, then getting the right help early on can make all the difference. But even more than that, this is about helping you feel comfortable and confident in knowing what’s next for your child. Sometimes there’s a gap between ‘early identification’ (e.g. the 2 year check) and ‘early intervention’ (i.e. the right help at the right time). This package is intended for those facing that gap.

What age should my child be for this programme to be useful?

I specifically designed this package for parents of 2 years olds who are only saying a handful of words. The strategies and 1:1 support is also applicable to a broader age range.  If this sounds like support that you’d find valuable, but you’re not sure if it applies to your situation, then you can simply get in touch and to talk it through.

How will I know if my child’s made progress?

We’ll keep track of progress through short video clips and an online evaluation form.  The main success measure is YOU feeling more confident and capable in helping your child progress as part of your everyday play.

Does this replace Speech and Language Therapy?

This is an early 1:1 support package, different from the direct SaLT you may receive in other contexts.  If you’re already receiving direct SaLT then this is likely not the right fit for you.

Isn’t helping children learn to talk just intuitive stuff?

In many ways, yes! But, if your child is slow to respond to the everyday play and chit chat you give them, it can make you doubt yourself. Having someone on your side for support along the way can help you focus on a few simple things that make the biggest difference and avoid some common pitfalls along the way.

How can I be confident that it’ll make a difference?

This package is based on the evidence around parent-child interaction therapy and early speech and language strategies. I’m confident that this package will give you a boost to your everyday play and conversation together. If you’re not entirely happy, you can have a 100% refund within the first 28 days.
